Unit 1 Craftivities (Second Half) Stories 1.4, 1.5, 1.6

My summer is flying by. I had planned on getting so much done. I did finish up the second half of Unit 1. I made cut and paste activities for the entire first unit. They are in two parts. Our old Harcourt series had these in the back of the book and we did them every Friday. The kids loved them. Reading Street does not have them, so I decided to make some. On all these crafts, I am going to have the kids complete a writing activity first and make a bulletin board out of them. Here's the link for the second half of Unit 1-http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Unit-1-Reading-Street-Craftivities-Pt-2-Stories-14-15-16-769956

Here is the completed picture for A Fox and a Kit. I had to color and cut them out myself since school is out and there are no kids available. I must say it took me a WHILE to finish this and I color pretty fast. So I imagine all of the crafts will take at least 30 minutes, probably longer.

The next craft is for Get the Egg! I didn't color this one. What my kids have done with other stories is draw a background scene on a big sheet of paper, then color, cut and glue the characters onto the paper. This one will probably take a good 45 minutes even for your fast workers. So it's perfect for one of those days when you have to do individual testing (I will use this on the day I get an oral reading grade).

I took these with my phone so the quality isn't great. It looks a lot better than this.

The last story is Animal Park. I made 4 different animal crafts. I am going to let them pick one animal to write about and make the craft.

lion

 zebra

 elephant

giraffe

I had a lot of fun making these and I hope teachers can use them in their classrooms.
