Number Bracelets

Today I finally used the number bracelets. My nieces helped me make an entire class set for numbers 3-12 (that's a lot of beads, y'all). Here's a picture.

The kids had a great time with them! Today we found all the ways to make 5 and 10. Then I gave a couple of word problems. They started making up their own word problems and got so excited. I love it when their eyes light up! Everyone was able to tell a take-away problem. One of my favorites- "I have 10 jobs. I got fired from 5 of them. How many do I have now?" They used the bracelets to solve the problems.
